Głośne przejęcia na lokalnym rynku zaczęły się od zakładów mięsnych Gzella w Osiu. Z małego zakładu wędliniarskiego założonego w połowie lat 80. przez Mirosława Gzellę, powstała jedna z najnowocześniejszych firm tej branży w kraju. Po 33 latach uznał on jednak, że to właściwy moment, aby sprzedać ją dużo większemu konkurentowi.
Grupa Mięsna Gzella była w dobrej kondycji finansowej, mogła przerabiać do 6 tys. ton mięsa miesięcznie, dysponowała własną flotą transportową i siecią 280 sklepów. Była więc atrakcyjnym kąskiem, za który można było dostać duże pieniądze. Jak duże, tego nie wiadomo. Ani Mirosław Gzella, ani Sokołów S.A., nabywca firmy z Osia, nie podali kwoty.

Gdyby Gzella poczekał jeszcze parę lat, kto wie, jak poradziłaby sobie jego firma w walce z wielkimi holdingami.

Z biznesowego punktu widzenia wybrał dobrze. Jak informuje w komunikacje prasowym Grupa Sokołów, w 2019 r. przychody wzrosły o 16,5 proc. (nie podano jednak konkretnych kwot).
W ubiegłym roku zakończono połączenie przejętych spółek Gzella, które przekształcono w oddział produkcyjny pod nazwą Spółka Gzella Osie.
- Chciałbym podkreślić stabilną sytuację finansową grupy – mówi Bogusław Miszczuk, prezes Sokołowa. - Dzięki temu mogliśmy zrealizować zaplanowane projekty inwestycyjne, których celem jest dalsza specjalizacja wszystkich naszych zakładów.

Wkrótce po firmie z Osia, nowy właściciel pojawił się też w Spółdzielni Mleczarskiej Świecka. Spółdzielnia ze Świecia o ponad stuletniej historii stała się oddziałem Grupy Mlekovita, giganta z Podlasia, który ma 20 zakładów i zatrudnia 5 tys. pracowników.
Prezes Świeckiej i udziałowcy, którymi było 80 rolników, nie mieli specjalnie wyjścia. Małym mleczarniom coraz trudniej walczyć z dużymi graczami na rynku. Chcąc przetrwać spółdzielnia musiałaby wydać w ciągu dwóch lat 2-3 mln zł na inwestycje w nową kotłownię i chłodnię. Sęk w tym, że tyle pieniędzy nie miała.
Ubiegły rok był dla Mlekovity bardzo udany.

Mlekovita przejęła zakład z 60 pracownikami, dostawców i około 300 punktów sprzedaży, ale też wszystkie zobowiązania i należności. Spółdzielnia w Świeciu była pierwszym zakładem grupy w województwie kujawsko-pomorskim.
Wybrano bogatego kupca. Ubiegły rok był dla Mlekovity bardzo udany. Firma miała rekordowe przychody, które przekroczyły 5 mld zł. Na inwestycje wydano 120 mln zł. Mlekovita przetwarza 8 mln litrów mleka i ma uprawnienia na eksport produktów do blisko 160 krajów.
